Farmers Get One-Run Win at Akron
The Lancaster Farmers did just enough to sneak past the Akron Blimps, 2-1, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Lancaster pitcher Jesús Árias, in particular, had a standout performance. Jim Steel converted his 13th save in 17 tries. Lancaster now has a 3-game win streak.

William Kirkland, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kirkland contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Lancaster up, 2-0.

"Tough loss," said Akron manager Noel Ballard. "But we'll learn from it."
