Blimps Make It 4 In a Row with 5-2 Triumph Over Crescent City

Led by Jorge Hernández, the Akron Blimps downed the Crescent City Krewe, 5-2. Hernández was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Blimps. Raúl Nieves earned the win for Akron. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 11. With the win, he raised his record to 6-4. The win lifted the Akron record to 39-30.
The Blimps got a big boost from first baseman Ole Geenen who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth inning off Krewe hurler Manuel Macías. It was his 22nd RBI of the season and put Akron on top, 2-1.
In postgame comments, Geenen told the Akron Daily News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
