Lew Slugs Polar Bears to 6-3 Win
|
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Crescent City Krewe, 6-3, at The Igloo. Billings catcher Tuo-zhou Lew had a superb performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The Polar Bears sit in 11th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 22-39.
Marcos Vargas drew 2 walk in 4 plate appearances for Billings. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Melvin Riley. It was his 38th walk of the season.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Lew.
