Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Crescent City Krewe and Yakima Hops.

Yakima got a terrific game from first baseman Tom Hancock. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Crescent City, 4-3. Hancock was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Mark Springer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.

Obke Veenman helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Crescent City a 2-0 lead.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Veenman. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."

Crescent City improves to 39-21 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
