Polar Bears Snatch Late Win
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Marcos Vargas, the Billings Polar Bears defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 7-5. Vargas went 1-2 with 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Polar Bears. Johnny Peters picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Garry Horton was tagged with the loss. Billings is now 18-30, Asheville 23-25.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Vargas delivered big-time for Billings, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Michael Weber. The game-changing hit put the Polar Bears on top, 7-5.

"It feels good to get this one," Vargas told the Billings Herald.
