Starting pitcher Yang-cheng Sang pitched well enough to help the Ottawa Nationals beat the Billings Polar Bears, 6-3. The winning pitcher was Sang, now 3-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. François L'Écuyer collected save number 4.
In the top of the first, Greg Erwin ambushed a 2-1 fastball from Alonso González and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Ottawa a quick 2-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Sang.
