Led by Tom Hancock, the Yakima Hops downed the Lancaster Farmers, 6-4. Hancock hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Hops. Ed Saunders, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Marvin McDermott recorded his 8th save for Yakima.

Hancock had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 slider from Vincent Hansen, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Hops a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Hancock.
