Blimps Need Extra Frames to Get Past Farmers
The Akron Blimps had to overcome a fine effort from Lancaster pitcher Jeffrey Pope to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Pope went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Chris Logan in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Dan Kent took the loss. The Farmers, now 4-10, continue their inauspicious start.

Brian Myers won the game for Akron when homered off Dan Kent in the bottom of the tenth.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Myers.
