Late Magic Gets Asheville 4-2 Win
The Asheville Highlanders bested the Akron Blimps by a score of 4-2, with right fielder Mike Minor getting the main credit. On the day, Minor was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for the Highlanders. The win was credited to Cory Black in relief. His record improves to 1-0. António Gallegos took the loss. Michael Weber was credited with the save for Asheville, his 1st of the season.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Minor delivered big-time for Asheville, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Bill Williams. The game-changing hit put the Highlanders on top, 3-2.

"It was a good effort all around," said Minor.

The Highlanders, now 7-3, have been playing some good baseball.
