In a low-scoring affair between the Crescent City Krewe and the Billings Polar Bears, pitcher Blaise Tonetti was the difference between victory and defeat. The Crescent City right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Krewe win. The win has Crescent City at 4-5.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Edmund Davis came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Billings pitcher Hisham Daud, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Crescent City on top, 2-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Billings manager Marvin Nelson. "But this was a tough one."
