Northern Lions BC Need Extra Innings to Top Outlaws, 5-3
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC racked up a win at Nashville Stadium, bumping off the Nashville Outlaws, 5-3. Marvin Stevens, who started for Thunder Bay, pitched effectively for his team. Will Parker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The 10th-place Northern Lions BC improved to 43-60.
Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Jesús Odilia to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Stevens told a Thunder Bay Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
