Browns Need Extra Frames to Get Past Outlaws
|
The Cleveland Browns had to overcome a fine effort from Nashville pitcher Miguel Pérez to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Nashville Stadium. Pérez went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Kenny McFadden in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rafael Herrera took the loss for Nashville. Cleveland is now 35-43, Nashville 43-35.
Cleveland used a clutch hit from Sherwin Tacod to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Browns ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Nashville manager Ryan Naylor.
