Led by Dao-zi Zhan, the Buffalo White Walkers downed the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-3. Zhan was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the White Walkers. Kini Grinter snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 1-1 on the season. The Northern Lions BC, now 26-42, have lost 8 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Buffalo, had it not been for Da-xia Hui, the 22-year old second baseman . Hui contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Buffalo up, 1-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hui told a Buffalo Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
