Kingston Township Beats Oakland, 6-3
|
The Kingston Township Knights took Oakland pitcher Gerald Orlebar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Oak Grove. The final score had Kingston Township getting past the Oaks, 6-3. Orlebar went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Kingston Township reliever Mark Wells picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. William Stevens was saddled with the loss. The 11th-place Knights raised their record to 25-40.
Kingston Township used the clutch hitting of Tom Rowland to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Knights ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rowland said after the game.
