Oaks Edge Echo Park in Pitching Duel
|
The Oakland Oaks did just enough to sneak past the Echo Park Lakers, 1-0, at The Oak Grove. Oakland pitcher Juan Luis Matos, in particular, had a standout performance. At 24-30, Oakland is in 9th place in the Third League.
The Oaks got a big boost from designated hitter Jae-woo Ohm who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Lakers hurler Mario Gonzáles. It was his 33rd RBI of the season and put Oakland on top, 1-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Ohm told the Oakland Bulletin.
