Fighting Imps Earn 4-3 Win Versus Hops
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Yakima Hops at Hops Park. Ithaca pitcher Tyler Budge held his own in the contest. Xin-fang Zha closed the door for Ithaca, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Ithaca has a mark of 5-2 after the win.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Daryl Pethick to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If we keep winning the close games," Budge said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
