In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Crescent City Krewe had to overcome a fine effort from Akron pitcher Cédric Barbot to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Barbot went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Deron Lewis, the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts over 6 innings.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Krewe sent 20-year-old designated hitter Michizane Yamashita to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run, to put Crescent City on top, 4-2.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Yamashita.

The loss drops the Blimps to 4-1.
