Redlegs Tag Fighting Dachsunds with 4-3 Loss
|
Dog Park in Ellenburg was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Sacramento Redlegs and Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds.
The Sacramento Redlegs topped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-3, in USSL Triple A action at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The standout performance belonged to Sacramento pitcher and Caracas, Venezuela, native Gian-Carlo Maneilli. Maneilli picked up the win for Sacramento, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. Picking up the save was Arsen Campbell, his 29th.
The Fighting Dachsunds had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Redlegs going into the top of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Roy MacDonald came to the plate. MacDonald hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 changeup from Ellenburg hurler Cecil Drabek. It was MacDonald's 12th home run of the year.
"This was a good win for us," said MacDonald. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
Ellenburg has now lost 4 consecutive games.
