Calgary Lynx starter Chris Williams pitched a strong game against the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at The Zoo in Syracuse, leading the Lynx to victory, 3-1. Maxwell Security converted his 13th save in 17 tries. Calgary raised its record to 51-38 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Calgary, had it not been for Bill Uttley, the 23-year old shortstop . Uttley contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Calgary up, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Calgary manager Rafael Clemente said.
