MacDonald, Redlegs Too Much for Disaster
|
Roy MacDonald added some punch to the Sacramento offense, helping them outmuscle the Port Royal Disaster, 10-7. In the game, MacDonald, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in runs scored with 45, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Ed Emery, the winner, improved to 13-3. He held the Disaster to 3 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Arsen Campbell earned the save for Sacramento, his 27th.
With Sacramento leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, MacDonald hit a fastball from Jurg Roozen for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Redlegs ahead, 8-3.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager John Brown said.
Port Royal has now lost 5 in a row.
