Late Rally by Pajaritos Locks Up 3-2 Win
|
The Norfolk Pajaritos tallied a win at Norfolk Field, throttling the Port Royal Disaster, 3-2. Starting pitcher Elroy Quaid was a big reason for his team's success. Norfolk reliever Da'wan Gaines picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. José Díaz was saddled with the loss. Carroll Kelly recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 14 for 18.
Norfolk took a 3-1 lead on Braxton Cottongame's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Cottongame hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Port Royal pitcher José Díaz shaking his head.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Quaid said.
Norfolk raised its record to 52-32 with the win.
