Port Huron Blitzkrieg starter Laurent Schweitzer turned in an exceptional performance against the Kansas Rainbeaus at Port Huron Park, resulting in a Port Huron win, 5-2. Port Huron, with the win, sits at 22-57.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Tom Connelly came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Kansas pitcher Kevin Hamm, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Port Huron on top, 3-2.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Kansas manager Rafael Herrera. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
