Squirrel Monkeys Fall to Fighting Dachsunds, 6-2
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds topped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 6-2, in USSL Triple A action at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ellenburg third baseman Jesse Garrett. Cecil Drabek got the win, improving to 2-4. He held the Squirrel Monkeys to 2 runs on 2 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Ray White, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
In the first inning, Garrett had a 2-run home run for Ellenburg. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Fighting Dachsunds on top, 3-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Garrett told the Ellenburg News.
With the win, Ellenburg raised its record to 37-34.
