Squirrel Monkeys Edge Pajaritos, 3-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys got the win.
Syracuse left-hander José Guerrero helped his team edge Norfolk by the score of 3-2. Guerrero kept the opposing lineup in check. With the win, Syracuse raised its record to 37-23.
Syracuse designated hitter Chandler Schroeder contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-0.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Guerrero.
