The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys and Norfolk Pajaritos obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys dealt the Norfolk Pajaritos a 6-5 loss at The Zoo in Syracuse. Chandler Schroeder was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times. Syracuse pitcher Georges Cormier got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Da'wan Gaines got the loss. Larry Benítez earned save number 2 this season.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Keith Nash came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Norfolk pitcher Da'wan Gaines, he hit a 2-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Syracuse on top, 6-5.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Schroeder.

The Squirrel Monkeys have an impressive 36-22 record.
