Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys starter Matt Dunn turned in a sterling performance against the Calgary Lynx, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Dunn picked up the win for Syracuse, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Thomas Sangrey earned save number 13 this season.
The Squirrel Monkeys got a big at-bat from center fielder Danny Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Syracuse a 2-1 lead.
