Tight Tilt Goes to Fighting Dachsunds, 2-1
|
The Sacramento Redlegs got a sterling performance from pitcher Ki-seop Ch'oe, but the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds still prevailed, 2-1. Ch'oe threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 runs. Herman Griffin picked up the win in relief for Ellenburg, while David Guzmán took the loss. Picking up the save was Jeff Moore, his 6th.
Had Pedro Serano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Serano hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Fighting Dachsunds.
"We take it day by day here," said Serano, "and today was a good one for us."
Ellenburg now has a record of 18-17 with the win.
