The Sacramento Redlegs beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 9-1, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The Redlegs got a fine performance from shortstop José Costa, who was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Richello Dosono finished to wrap up his 1st save. Sacramento is now 19-14.

With Sacramento leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Costa hit a fastball from David Graham for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Redlegs ahead, 5-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Costa told the Sacramento Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
