Curtis Leads Squirrel Monkeys to Win

The Tortolita Drummers and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Tortolita Drummers, 7-2, at The Zoo in Syracuse. Glenn Curtis, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Zaki Fakhiri, the winning pitcher, is now 4-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 2. Georges Cormier collected save number 1.
Syracuse took the lead on Curtis's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Curt Moore in the bottom of the sixth, made the score 4-2, Syracuse.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Curtis told the Syracuse Times.
Syracuse is now 17-13.
