Syracuse catcher Keith Nash contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-0.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Fakhiri said.
