Norfolk first baseman Luis Flores had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 7-2. Picking up the win was Yu-wei Kum. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 4. Carroll Kelly got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Flores put Norfolk up, 4-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Foeke Reus in the bottom of the fifth. His 2nd home run of the season helped the Pajaritos capture the win.
Flores called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The first-place Pajaritos now have a win-loss record of 13-8.
