Squirrel Monkeys Take Down Pajaritos, 6-5
The 6-5 Syracuse win over Norfolk was due largely to Gilberto Ocasio. The Squirrel Monkeys right fielder was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Syracuse reliever Georges Cormier picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Carroll Kelly was saddled with the loss. Thomas Sangrey recorded his 6th save for Syracuse.

Ocasio had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Bill Terry, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Squirrel Monkeys a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Ocasio.

Ocasio told a Syracuse Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The loss puts Norfolk at 12-7.
