Led by Yataro Nagai, the Tortolita Drummers defeated the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 5-4. Nagai was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Drummers. Tortolita reliever Noah Keyte was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Tommaso Cugnoni took the loss. Gabriel Leeds closed the door for Tortolita, picking up his 5th save of the year.

The Drummers got a big hit from second baseman Bao-tian Tong. In the bottom of the sixth, Tong pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 3rd double of the season put the Drummers ahead, 4-3.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Nagai said after the game.

With the loss, Syracuse falls to 7-6.
