Squirrel Monkeys Make It 4 Straight with 4-3 Win
|
Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys starter Steve Gourin pitched a strong game against the Port Royal Disaster at The Zoo in Syracuse, leading the Squirrel Monkeys to victory, 4-3. Earning his 4th save for Syracuse was Thomas Sangrey. The Disaster fall to 4-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The Squirrel Monkeys got an important contribution from center fielder Ron Burnett, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a full count circle change into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Gourin.
