Sacramento got a strong outing from Miguel Pérez as the Redlegs defeated the Norfolk Pajaritos, 3-2, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The win was credited to Tim Strong in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Carroll Kelly took the loss. Norfolk falls to 5-4.
In the bottom of the ninth, José Costa had a chance to play the hero. And he did, socking a run-scoring double off Norfolk pitcher Bill Terry.
"This place was jumping at the end," Pérez said.
