Drummers Fell Disaster, 7-4

The home crowd had a good time watching the Port Royal Disaster and Tortolita Drummers get after it.
The Tortolita Drummers overcame a good performance by Port Royal shortstop Nando van der Goor to knock off Port Royal, 7-4, at Drummers Ballpark. van der Goor belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Lorenzo Carregosa, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Gabriel Leeds earned the save for Tortolita, his 3rd of the year.
Doing his part for Tortolita was designated hitter Bill Stickells, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Stickells was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Stickells told the Tortolita Today.
The victory makes Tortolita 3-5.
