Squirrel Monkeys Upend Rainbeaus, 4-2
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys got a strong performance from pitcher Korbin Dallas, who stymied the Kansas offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Wichita Field. Getting the save was Thomas Sangrey, his 1st. With the win, Syracuse improves its record to 1-4.
Syracuse relied on the bat of Chandler Schroeder to get the win. The left fielder produced a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 2-0. For the game, Schroeder had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Kansas manager Rafael Herrera said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
