Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Port Royal Disaster home opener. Katsumoto Ine started for the home team against Ed Emery for the Sacramento Redlegs. The Disaster were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-2, Sacramento. Ed Emery, though, was impressive. The winning pitcher was Emery, now 1-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3.

Sacramento relied on the hitting of Ángel Júlio to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Redlegs on top, 3-0. For the game, Júlio had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
