The Golden Cranes grabbed a win, 3-2, at Fog Park, overcoming a fine effort from Sunset District pitcher Kai Ryssdal. Ryssdal went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Miguel Bruno earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Santa Barbara has now won 5 games in a row.
The outcome might have been different for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Augusto Castro, the 22-year old first baseman . Castro stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Santa Barbara up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
