Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Sioux Falls Red Pandas and Vermont Lake Monsters.
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas turned back the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3, at The Bamboo Forest. Michael Warner, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sioux Falls reliever Edward Swetnam picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Javier Gallardo shouldered the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Warner hit a fastball from Javier Gallardo for a run-scoring single. The Red Pandas, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Warner.
Sioux Falls raised its record to 43-42 with the win.
