The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-2. Vermont pitcher and Burnaby, Canada, native Bob Wheelock led the way. Earning his 14th save for Vermont was Fred Jerger. With the win, Vermont goes to 33-39, while the Red Pandas fall to 36-36.

Had Eric MacKichan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, MacKichan hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Lake Monsters.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Wheelock.
