Fur Traders Topple Loons with Late Rally

Loony Bin was the site for USSL Double A action featuring the Minnesota Loons and Tacoma Fur Traders.
The Minnesota Loons got a superb performance from pitcher Marx Lieftink. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tacoma. The Fur Traders won the game, 6-3. Lieftink threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Pedro Garza recorded the save, his 1st.
Tacoma used the timely hitting of Ernesto Pájaro to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fur Traders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Pájaro told a Tacoma Daily News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
Minnesota is 3-3 after the defeat.
