The Hartford Pride relied on the hitting of left fielder Jeff Bowers to stop the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 6-4. For the game, Bowers was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jack Salt, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. The Pride raised their record to 29-50.

Bowers contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Hartford in the top of the second. With his team trailing 3-1, Bowers took a changeup from Willie Woodward and stroked the home run to left-center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Pride to leap in front, 4-3.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bowers.
