Qigang Lifts Monsters to 5-2 Triumph
|
The 5-2 Monongahela win over Jersey City was due largely to Shao Qigang. The Monsters catcher was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Monsters have now won 4 straight.
Qigang made an early impact for Monongahela when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Monsters on top, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Qigang told the Monongahela Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
