Reserves Trounce Pride, 10-2
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves and starting pitcher Willie Woodward stifled the Hartford offense en route to a comfortable 10-2 win at Pride Park. In 6 innings, Woodward surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Reserves move to 27-28 with the win, while the Pride drop to 19-36.
Athletic Club KC second baseman Carl Zimerman contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 54th hit of the season and put the Reserves ahead, 7-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Reserves manager Culley Adjeng. "We came out swinging the bats."
