The Monongahela Monsters and Hialeah Dodos provided some drama for the home crowd.

Starting pitcher Dan Carter pitched well enough to help the Hialeah Dodos beat the Monongahela Monsters, 4-3. The second-place Dodos now have a 6-game winning streak.

Hialeah shortstop Keith Pick contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Dodos ahead, 3-0.

"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Carter.
