Reserves Trip Nobles, 6-5, in Extra Innings
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 6-5, at KC Reserve Stadium. Athletic Club KC shortstop Steven Lutz had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 6 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alfonso Enríquez, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. The 4th-place Reserves are 25-21.
The Reserves relied on designated hitter Mhelter Gaston for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 14th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"It was a test of wills," said Culley Adjeng, the Athletic Club KC skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
