Tritons Clip Monsters, 1-0
|
In a tight game between the Jersey City Tritons and the Monongahela Monsters, pitcher Renault Daddi was terrific on the mound. The Jersey City right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. Nathan May finished the game for Jersey City and earned his 10th save. Jersey City goes to 20-21, Monongahela to 25-16.
The Monsters had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Tritons going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right fielder Sherman Kline came to the plate. Kline hit a solo home run on a 0-2 fastball from Monongahela hurler António Haritos. It was Kline's 6th home run of the year.
"We didn't score," said losing manager José González. "That was the problem."
