Lake Monsters Shut Out Men, 3-0
|
Vermont got a first-rate effort from pitcher Roy Duyan, who frustrated Florida hitters en route to a 3-0 Lake Monsters triumph at Monster Field. Fred Jerger recorded his 10th save for Vermont. The Lake Monsters' win now puts them at 28-36.
The Lake Monsters got an important contribution from shortstop Fabrice Boyer, who in the bottom of the second knocked a first pitch fastball into right-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-0.
"We'll savor this win," Duyan told the Vermont Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
