Black Mambas Knock Off Nolensville, 6-3
|
The Austin Black Mambas topped the Nolensville Knights, 6-3, in M3L Triple A action at Nolensville Park. The standout performance belonged to Austin pitcher and Staten Island, New York, native Steve Denton. Denton picked up the win for Austin, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. Duane Coleman recorded his 13th save for Austin.
Austin used the bat of An-te-hai Qing to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Feels good to get the job done," Denton said after the game.
With the win, Austin has a record of 32-30. Nolensville falls to 28-34.
